FauxCon IX

FauxCon IX website is open, just in time for Arcanacon! We are still hunting down a few more events - we have space for freeforms, boardgames, tabletops and special events as well as short miniature games. Any blurbs need to be submitted by the 5th of February.

http://www.fauxcon.org/fc_ix/

About FauxCon IX

After feedback from several loyal Fauxcon members, we have decided that it is due time for FauxCon to move back to the south of Victoria. And you can't get further south than Wilson's Promontory. A beautiful, wind-swept peninsula, the Prom is entirely National Parkland. Which is why we couldn't hold Fauxcon there.

So, instead we've arranged for the Convention to be held at Fish Creek. Fish Creek is a pretty hamlet approximately 18km north of the Prom. The entire convention will be happening at the Fish Creek Caravan and Camping Reserve, at the corner of Old Warratah Road and Fish Creek-Yanakie Road.

Rather than hire a convention site such as a school, we've taken the lessons learnt from Fauxcon VIII and hired a variety of caravans, camping trailers and tent sites for the long weekend. For the largest events, the Fish Creek Free Church Hall is only a 15 minute walk away from the con-site back toward town, and events such as freeforms will be held there. The hall will only be used during daylight hours, both to ensure the safety of con attendees and because it is not connected to the mains power.

FauxCon VIII!

Just in time! As promised, the FauxCon VIII website is up on Valentine's day - wholly appropriate given that this year's theme is.... WEDDINGS!

As you might have seen at Arcanacon, FauxCon 8 will be the site and venue for the wedding of David Smith and Elizabeth Jones. For details about the Con, events running, and the bridal registry, take an immediate look at:

http://www.fauxcon.org/fc_viii/

Some events - including the all important Wedding Freeform finale to the Convention - have not been finalised, and their details will be added to the site as soon as possible, but about half of the Con events have blurbs, and all of the information regarding venue, entry and so on is already there. Check it out now, then look back again soon!

Hope to see you all at the con :-)
